    The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills in the notification issued on 20th April, 2020 has informed that the operations of the Fishing (Marine) aquaculture industry. including feeding & maintenance, harvesting, processing, packaging. cold chain, sale and marketing hatcheries, feed plants, commercial aquaria, movement of fish, shrimp and fish products, fish seed, feed and workers for all these activities are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.


    Workshops for maintenance of Government Ambulances, Government Vehicles on COVID-19 duties identified by the District Transport Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai are also exempted


    Workshops to be opened:

    MS Dowell Auto Workshop,Ladthadlaboh, Jowai to deal with Petrol Vehicles.

    M/S B.D. Auto Work. Mihmyntdu to deals with Diesel Vehicles.

    Dealers and Spare parts to be opened:


    Lytan Auto Spare Parts, Mooralong, Jowai.

    Rani Motors Genuine Spare Parts, Mihmyntdu.

    Mahindra Genuine Spare Parts, Lad Nartiang, Jowai.

    Whereas workshop for repairs of Trucks alongside National and State Highways will be identified by the District Transport Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowal.

    However, the District Magistrate has instructed all are to strictly Maintain Social Distancing of 1metre, follow cough etiquette and regular wash hands with Soap and Water, wear mask and to avoid spitting in public places. 

    Violation if any will be punished as under Section 51(6) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
