Five drugs traffickers arrested & four vehicles seized in Shillong
In a crackdown against drug traffickers in Shillong city, Meghalaya Police arrested five persons and four vehicles used for the commission of the crimes were also seized.
Police said acting on tipoff, ANTF EKH intercepted one Eco Sport ML05 U 1782 at Jingkieng Demthring at about 6.15 pm on Sunday.
They recovered 40 soap cases weighing 559 gms of Heroin from the vehicle driven by Shaniah Kharmawphlang age 19 yrs. His accomplice identified as one Daniel Nongrum 20 yrs of Nongrah Nongpdeng was immediately arrested and his Pulsar bike ML05S9546 .
On further interrogation, the supplier was ascertained as Esther Ramhmangaih 37 yrs, who was arrested from her house at Madanriting Thembasuk Block F with Rs 4,42,00/- cash.
From her premises, two couriers , Robinson Hmar age 19yrs of Bawngkawn Aizawl and Letminlen Doungel 30 yrs of Tuibong, Churachandpur Manipur were arrested and seized Mahendra Bolero AS03 M 9080 and one Suzuki Burgman scooty ML05W 9432 while cash Rs 2,19,510/- was recovered inside the Bolero.
A total of 6 mobile phones have also been seized from the 5 persons arrested.
Police has registered a case under the NDPS Act is registered at Rynjah PS for further investigation.
