Five tests positive for Omicron variant in Meghalaya
Five persons have been tested positive for the Omicron virus variant of the COVID-19 in the state.
Confirming this, Principal Secretary in-charge Health & Family Welfare department Sampath Kumar said that of the total COVID-19 cases sent for genome sequencing, five were tested for the Omicron virus.
Of these, three are from Shillong in East Khasi Hills and two are from Ri Bhoi district, he informed.
He added that the two cases in Ri Bhoi are from Saiden village and in Shillong, one each from Langkyrding, Happy Valley and Laitumkhrah.
