FKJGP demands Govt to provide spl scheme to aid COVID-19 patients

The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has demanded the state government to come up with a special scheme to aid COVID-19 patients. 

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday, FKJGP general secretary Dundee C Khongsit said, “We…urge your good office to kindly sanction a special scheme for COVID-19 patients and deceased to bear their expenses for medical treatment and other expenses in all the private & government hospitals across the state.” 

He said it has come to the notice of the organization that most of the family members affected by COVID-19 are facing lots of problems during this pandemic due to the financial crisis in all-round development.

Khongsit also alleged that some private hospitals are trying to take advantage in the name of COVID-19 in which the families of those affected by COVID-19 are hesitating to go for testing & medical treatment since they cannot afford to bear their medical expenses.
