FKJGP demands govt to revoke Rao’s appointment as CS

SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has demanded the state government to revoke its decision to appoint MS Rao as the chief secretary of the state.

“We demand that the notification on Rao’s appointment should immediately be cancelled and the government should appoint Hector Marwein as the chief secretary since he is two years senior to Roa,” the FKJGP central body said in a statement issued here on Thursday.

The statement said the decision of the MDA to appoint Rao as the chief secretary is a clear indication of trampling upon the rights of a senior IAS officer.  The FKJGP has also warned to take stern decision if the government fails to pay heed to the demand.
