Flock of Greylag Geese surprises residents in Klew Village, Ri Bhoi
A massive flock of Greylag Geese swept into Klew Village in Ri Bhoi District on October 25, leaving villagers amazed and unsettled by the birds’ loud honking. These migratory birds, often found across Asia, roost near water bodies and travel in large groups.
Village headman Lamburom Masharing shared that while most of the flock flew on, one bird was found stranded in a paddy field and was rescued by resident Bah Adrinshon Sohiong.
Local authorities have advised villagers not to harm any birds if they return, and the rescued goose will be handed over to the Wildlife Department.
