Foundation laid for additional facilities of Betkuchi Terminal of Indian Oil
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the base of additional facilities of Betkuchi Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (Indian Oil) virtually in a function in Jorhat on Saturday.
A brief function was organised at Betkuchi Terminal to mark the occasion, which was graced by Indian Oil executive director (project management) Sanjay Parashar.
“The Betkuchi POL Terminal in Guwahati will be expanded. Indian Oil wants to boost storage capacity with an additional 18000 litres which will boost the total storage capacity from existing 25,000 to 43,000 litres. New fire water tanks and other amenities will also be installed by the corporation,” Parashar said.
“To develop the Betkuchi facility, the company has already purchased an additional additional 20 acres of land. The oil company will invest Rs 277 crore for the project,” Parashar also said.
Presently, Indian Oil has been supplying petrol and diesel from Betkuchi Terminal to the entire Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Barak Valley, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura.
The programme was attended by Indian Oil general manager (retail) Kuntal Mukherjee, deputy general manager Santosh Singha, deputy general manager (operation) Deepak Kumar Pathak and deputy general manager (operation) Dilip Kumar Roy and other senior officials.
