Foundation stone laid for PHC at Mylliem Umthlong
Meghalaya Health Minister, AL Hek on Monday laid the foundation stone for upgradation of Mylliem-Umthlong Sub Centre to Primary Health Centre at Umthlong Maweitnai, East Khasi Hills District.
Addressing the gathering, A L Hek stated that the PHC is meant for the public, hence the public should come forward and avail all the benefits and services provided to them and also to take care of it by keeping it clean and safe. He stated that the upgradation of the PHC will be completed within 18 months and an amount of Rs 7.92 crores has been sanctioned for the purpose.
Hek, laid special emphasis on the medical facilities provided for pregnant women and urged upon them to go for regular check-ups in order to have healthy children and also to protect themselves from any complications during delivery. He further urged the public to enroll themselves with Megha Health Insurance Scheme, which will be a boon for the general public at large.
