Four Armed robbers involved in looting of Petrol Pumps arrested

In a major breakthrough in the investigation of Khliehriat PS Case No. 02(01)2022 U/S 392 IPC and Khliehriat PS Case No.03 (01)2022 U/S 392 IPC, the East Jaintia Hills District Police conducted a special operation on the intervening night of 11th – 12th March 2022 which led to the arrest of four (4) hardcore criminals responsible for the commission of the aforementioned cases.

Based on specific intelligence input, a hideout of the below noted accused persons at Ryngsong Shylla near Umlawang village, East Jaintia Hills District was raided by the Police team and during the raid, the below noted accused persons were arrested coupled with recoveries of one AK-47 rifle, fourteen (14) live rounds of AK series ammunition, machetes, one motor cycle B/R No. AS 27 D 2482 and several other incriminating materials. Further, one accomplice of the arrested accused persons has been picked up from Guwahati with the help of Guwahati Police, Assam.

It is noteworthy to mention here that during preliminary interrogation, the accused persons revealed their involvement in the recent robbery cases of Petrol Refilling Centers at Khliehriat, Shillong and Ribhoi. In this connection, a thorough investigation is being carried to unearth the entire conspiracy in the commission of these offences.
