Four DCs transferred amidst COVID-19 pandemic
In a minor reshuffle of bureaucrats, the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government has transferred more than nine IAS officials.
In a notification issued here on Wednesday, Dr SP Ahmmed, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, has been relieved as Principal Secretary of Information & Public Relations department.
MN Nampui has also been relieved of her functions as Secretary of the Information & Public Relations department and department of Textiles but she will continue as Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare.
FM Dopth, East Jaintia Hills deputy commissioner (DC), has been transferred and posted as Secretary of the Department of Textiles, while East Khasi Hills DC, Matsiewdor War Nongbri has been transferred and posted as secretary of Information & Public Relations department.
C Kharkongor, Secretary of Social Welfare department has been transferred as DC of South West Khasi Hills and E Kharmalki, Secretary of the Urban Affairs department, will now take charge as DC of East Jaintia Hills.
SC Sadhu, DC of North Garo Hills has been transferred and posted as Director of Community & Rural Development, while I Laloo, DC of South West Khasi Hills, has been posted as DC of East Khasi Hills, and G Kharmawphlang, Joint Secretary of Urban Affairs, Education department, has been posted as Director of Urban Affairs.
Subject to clearance by the Election Commission of India, RP Marak, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, has now been transferred as DC of North Garo Hills.
Meanwhile, BS Sohliya, Chief Executive Officer of Shillong Municipal Board will also function as secretary of the Meghalaya Urban Development Agency while HDB Sangma, Joint Secretary of GAD, will also function as Trade Adviser & Director Movement, Kolkata and D Phawa, Additional DC, Ri Bhoi district has been transferred as ADC of East Khasi Hills.
