Four rapists sentenced to serve rigorous imprisonment for a decade

In what could be termed as justice served to the minor rape victims, four rapists involved in four seperate incidents were sentenced to ten years Rigorous Imprisonment and hefty fine by the Court of Special Judge of POCSO Act, Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills District.

According to official communique, the Court sentenced ten years rigorous imprisonment to Thaura Darnei with a fine of Rs.5000. Darnei committed rape on a minor victim girl on 28.5.2017 and he is convicted on 11.3.2021 under section 6 POCSO Act.

Elbert Marak committed rape on a minor victim girl on the 16.11.2016 and he is convicted on 1.4.2021 and is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 10 years under section 361 IPC R/w section 6 POCSO Act with fine of Rs. 10000/-

Kanu Das committed rape on the minor victim girl on the 3.3.2016 and he is convicted on the 8.4.2021 to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years under section 6 POCSO Act with fine of Rs 10000/-

Mehun Lamurong committed rape on a minor victim girl on 1.1.2018 and he is convicted on the 15.4.2021 to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years under section 6 POCSO Act with fine of Rs 10000/-.
