Four youths arrested for assaulting two Keralites interns

Four youths so far have been arrested for their involvement in three incidents of assaults in Shillong City on 24 June, last.

According to police, on the said date a group of bikers assaulted a traffic policeman on being stopped at S.D.Khongwir junction, Mawlai lewrynghep for not wearing helmets.

On their way back they assaulted a Swiggy delivery boy near Mahari Petrol Pump, Jaiaw and later headed towards Jaiaw Pdeng.

They then stopped at ES Restaurant assaulted the two interns from Kerala. 2(Two) FIRs were filed at Lumdiengjri PS and one at Mawlai PS which were registered as Lumdiengjri PS. C/No. 65(06)2022 U/S 341/324/427/34 IPC, 66(06)2022 U/S 341/506/324/34 IPC and Mawlai PS C/No 45(06)2022 U/S 353/323/427/34 IPC respectively.

Based on the identification through various sources, 4(Four) of the miscreants have been arrested so far.

Following their interrogation, their involvement has been confirmed. The district police is on the job to apprehend the rest of culprits.

The four have been produced in Court on 29.06.22 and an initial five days police remand has been sought for.
