FPS dealers to be punished if found overcharging: Tynsong
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said fair price shop dealers will be punished as per law, if they are found overcharging of rice meant for the poor people.
He was reacting to the allegations that some fair price shop dealers are indulging in overcharging of rice distributed to the poor at the rate Rs 3 per kg in the name of transportation fees.
Asked, Tynsong however made it clear that it is the government which is paying for transportation of food grain.
“They cannot charge extra and if found they are going to be punished as per law,” he said while urging beneficiaries to complaint if there is such illegality to the vigilance committee.
