Ganja recovered and woman dealer arrested after a fire broke out

A fire incident in a building led to an unexpected major recovery of narcotics substances and subsequent arrest of one woman dealer.

According to police, on Monday morning at around 8:30 AM, information was received of a fire incident at Tyrsad village where the Fire and Emergency Service rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

During enquiry at the place of occurrence by the Officers and staff of Mawngap Police Station, the ground floor of the house was found used for the storage of Cannabis/Ganja.

With the assistance of ANTF, a seizure of 1001.655 kgs of Cannabis/Ganja was made from the hideout.

Police said a case vide Mawngap Police Station Case No.13(06)2022 U/S
20(b) (ii)(C) NDPS Act has been registered and one woman accusef Junita Nongbet (40 yrs) has been arrested and forwarded to court. Investigation is on to nab others involved in the racket.
