General Holiday on Meghalaya Polling Day

The Governor of Meghalaya has declared a general holiday for all State Government Offices and Educational Institutions on the 27 of this month on account of General Elections to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly 2023.

Further, the Governor directed that Industrial undertaking or any of the establishments governed by N.I. Act, 1881, shops and those which work on shift basis, daily wages, casual workers including those working outside the constituency shall be entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday as provided in Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
