General holiday on polling date

The District Magistrate & District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed the general public that the Government of Meghalaya has declared general holiday on the Monday so as to enable the voters to exercise their franchise.

All District Government Offices and Educational Institutions shall remain closed on the polling date.

Industrial undertakings or any of the establishments governed by the N.I. Act, 1881, shops and those which work on shift basis, daily wages, and casual workers including those working outside the constituency shall be entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday.
