GHADC dy.CEM files FIR against miscreants for creating fake social media account

Deputy Chief Executive Member of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Nikman Marak on Saturday lodged a complaint against miscreants for creating a fake account in his name with the intention to create more tension in Garo Hills.

In his FIR, Marak said some individuals with malafide intention of creating more tension in regard with the ongoing council issues have created accounts in his name and using his current profile picture and have been commenting and updating in social media platforms.

“…such posts which were not posted by me had been widely shared in social media such as facebook and whatsapp…such posts have a tendency to create more conflict and act as a medium of adding fuel to this present burning issue. The posts containing unwelcoming words which are provocative in nature and creating confusion and misleading our genuine public who  genuinely thought that those posts are being posted by me which is not true, hence, this FIR,” he said.

He urged the authorities concerned to take immediate action and to stop the fake account from further damaging his reputation by posting provocative status to mislead the general public.
