GMC launches Mukti Rath: Free mortuary van service in Guwahati
The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) unveiled the Mukti Rath initiative, a free mortuary van service dedicated to the residents of Guwahati on Friday. The service was officially launched at Nehru Stadium, Paltan Bazar, by Guwahati Mayor Mrigen Sarania, with support from Federal Bank.
The Mukti Rath mortuary van service provides a compassionate solution for transporting deceased individuals with dignity. This initiative, fully funded and operated by GMC, reflects a commitment to addressing the critical needs of citizens during times of grief.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy Mayor Smita Roy, Commissioner Megh Nidhi Dahal, representatives from Federal Bank and other officials og GMC.
