Govt approves remission of stamp duty
The state Cabinet on Thursday the Remission of Stamp Duty on Emergency Credit Card Guarantee Scheme and PMSVANIDHI Scheme.
After the meeting, Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma said the government have exempted the stamp duty fees that is to be charged on the Emergency Credit Card Guarantee Scheme and PMSVANIDHI Scheme.
“This will allow the small time loan takers to easily avail this and they will not have to register or pay stamp duty on this particular scheme and this is being done throughout the country. Therefore, Meghalaya has also implemented this and this will ensure our small time street vendors and entreprenuers who take these loans dont have to pay stamp duty,” he said.
The cabinet has also approved the Meghalaya Court Fees e-Payment Rules.
“This is just a follow up because we had allowed the Meghalaya Court Fees to be paid through online so the rules on how they will be paid were today notified,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Settlement of Arrears Rules, 2020 was also approved during the meeting.
