Govt approves revise room rent in all Meghalaya Houses

After the cabinet meeting held here on Monday, home minister James Sangma informed that seat rent has been revised for the Meghalaya Houses in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Velore and Guwahati.
He said the decision was taken in view that there is an increase in the cost of maintenance, electricity bills, and others.
Asked, the minister said for senior officials on duty the rent has been increased to Rs 200 per head and for officials not on duty it is Rs 300 per head while for non-official visitors it is Rs 200 per head.
Meanwhile, the cabinet has also approved the Revised Rules for Occupation in Meghalaya Houses.
This was done with the intention to ensure better management of the Meghalaya Houses and optimizing the resources, the minister said.
