Govt assures to resolve non-supply of PDS sugar

SHILLONG: The beneficiaries of public distribution system (PDS) are being deprived of regular supply of sugar due to the financial crisis faced by the state government. 

Minister of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs James K Sangma on Friday told reporters that the government is having a little difficulty in terms of sanctioning for sugar distribution. “We are trying to figure it out and we are hopeful we will be able to find a solution,” he said.

The  minister also assured that the government will resolve the issue at the earliest in the interest of the people of the state.
