Govt awaits AICTE approval of courses for Shillong Engineering College
The state government is still waiting for the All India Councl for Technical Education to grant approval to the Shillong Government College of Engineering for starting the courses.
Informing this on Friday, Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said that the department is in the process of attending to the queries of the AICTE.
“Once we completed the process, we will move the AITCT for the course approval (in order to start the academic session of the engineering college),” he told reporters.
According to the minister, the AICTE queries are mostly related to design of the classrooms, number of rooms and others.
“We are working to meet the challenges in regards to the infrastructure,” he added.
