Govt awaits report on complaint against cabinet minister
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Friday said he is waiting for a report from the district administration on the complaint against cabinet minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare for allegedly distributing money to people of Nongkrem constituency.
“I am yet to get a report from the district administration. These kinds of things I don’t know whether it is true or not that let us wait when we get the report from the district administration, maybe I will comment on that,” Tynsong told reporters.
Refusing to comment further, the deputy CM said, “Until and unless the model code of conduct is in place then only the rules have to be strictly followed.”
Stating that the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) had already referred the matter to the Deputy Commissioner, Tynsong said, “…let the district administration take all the steps to verify and maybe they will submit a report to the government.”
On October 24, Minister in-charge PWD (Building) and legislator from Mawhati Dasakhiatbha Lamare had said that he doesn’t mind going to jail for helping the people of Nongkrem constituency, from where he will be contesting in the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections.
