Govt constitutes committee to ensure timely disbursement of teachers’ salary
Director of School Education & Literacy Swapnil Tembe on Thursday said a dedicated committee at the DSEL level has been put in place to ensure regular release of salaries to different kinds of schools.
Speaking to reporters, Tembe said that the committee is meeting every month to review the releases of salaries to the different schools.
He informed that as far as the government schools are concerned for all the categories, the government has released uptill the month of January.
“Of course sometimes there are technical issues. There are those financial systems that are online so may be because of some issues, sometimes the change in DDO (drawing and disbursing officer). There are various factors and that is why some schools may not receive (their salaries). Basically, the good part is that we are reviewing every month. We sit every first week and we monitor and in fact we also release in advance. So last year, there were no issues in terms of this,” the director stated.
In regards to the government aided schools, Tembe said it is being released on a quarterly basis adding the government has released till December.
“For this present quarter, which is the last quarter, we are working out and this will be taken care of separately,” he added.
