Govt in the process of setting up fire service in Mawryngkneng

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Thursday informed the Assembly that setting up of the emergency fire service in Mawrynkneng is under process.

Replying during the question hour, Tynsong said once land is being handed over to the police department, the process of creation of infrastructure will start.

He said that the land acquisition is in the final stage and that there has been no agreement made with the land owners.

Tynsong also assured to examine the suggestion made by the TMC legislator from Nongthymmai Charles Pyngrope on the need to place fire tenders in several locations for quick response to any fire incident.
