Govt releases pending salary of deficit teachers
SHILLONG: The state government has released pending three-month salary of the deficit school teachers in the state.
Informing this here on Tuesday, president of the Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers’ Association (KJDSTA) Kular Khongjirem said it was after repeated request and pressure, the state government through the Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) has released the second quarter of 3 months salary for the deficit school teachers in the state.
He said the sanctioning order of the Director has been sent to different District School Education Officers (DSEOs) of the 11 districts of the state.
The KJDSTA together with Garo Hills Deficit School Teachers & Employees Association (GHDSTEA) have also expressed gratitude to the state government, officials of education department and also the Directorate.
Khongjirem however said the association would also like to remind and urge the state government to also keep the assurance with regards to the pending arrear by releasing another 25 percent as the 2nd installment before Teacher’s Day celebration so that teachers are able to celebrate the day in a more magnificent and enthusiastically manner.
“Teachers also want the speech from the government side on the official function of teachers’day celebration in word and action not by lip service only,” he said.
