Govt to allow re-opening of border trades along Indo-Bangla
The state government has decided to allow re-opening of export and import activities along the international border with Bangladesh from June 8.
“In line with the Government of India’s decision, we have decided to allow reopening of border trade activities from Monday next,” Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters after a review meeting held on Wednesday.
He however said that the border haats on the Indo-Bangla border will continue to remain closed.
Tynsong further informed that the state government has also decided to allow re-opening of shopping complexes from June 8.
He said only 50 percent of shops within the respective shopping complexes will be allowed to re-open on a rotational basis.
“We have asked the deputy commissioners concerned to workout the modailities to ensure SOPs and protocols issued by the health department are strictly followed,” Tynsong said.
The deputy chief minister however said that barber shops, saloons and beauty parlours will continue to remain closed until further orders.
