Govt to implement MHSS project for development of health sector
The state Cabinet has approved the proposal for implementation of the Meghalaya Health System Strengthening (MHSS) project for overall development of the health sector in the state.
After the meeting, government spokesperson and minister, James K Sangma told reporters that the externally aided project aims to contribute to the overall development of the health sector.
“80 percent of the project will be financed by the World Bank and 20 per cent by the state government,” Sangma said.
He informed that the total cost of the project envisaged for over five years is Rs 352 crores.
The minister said the executive committee would be constituted within the Health & Family Welfare department under the guidance of the project steering committee (PSC).
