Govt to review odd/even restrictions
The state government will soon review the restrictions on vehicle movement under the odd and even number system due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the government has received many requests not only from the commercial vehicle owners but even from passengers on the matter.
He said while the passengers have expressed concern over taxi fares that have become expensive as the normal seating capacity has been reduced to 50 percent, the vehicle owners are raising concern about paying taxes.
“Therefore, we will soon hold a review meeting and take a call on this matter. We will see if the situation permits, we also want to lift the restriction imposed under odd and even number system,” Tynsong said.
