Govt to set up independent inquiry into rice scam
The state government has decided to constitute a single member independent inquiry into the alleged rice scam.
Informing this here on Friday, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said he has ordered an order to constitute a single-member independent inquiry into the social welfare department’s matter regarding the rice and the quality of the food products which was raised by different quarters.
“The Chief Secretary has been asked to find out names of retired Judges of the High Court so that we can select one member committee,”he said. According to him, once instituted, the committee will be given three months time to complete the inquiry.
