Govt to shift state dispensary at Mawlai Nongpdeng to new building
The state government has decided to shift the Nehru Memorial State Dispensary at Mawlai Nongpdeng to a new building.
“We have decided to shift the state dispensary to a new building in the same location within 10-15 days before the Independence day celebration,” Health Minister AL Hek told reporters on Monday.
The decision was also taken following the recent demand made by the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Mawlai Circle, which conducted an inspection and found that maintaining physical distance among the patients and health workers was a problem due to the condition of the existing building of the state dispensary.
Meanwhile, the health minister has also visited some of the containment areas which include Mawlai Nonglum, Mawlai Umjaiur, Mawlai Umshing, Mawlai Mawtawar and others.
“I have met all the traditional heads and members of the community COVID-19 management committees and briefed them about the protocols on how to contain the spread of the virus,” he said.
On a complaint from the Mawtawar dorbar shnong, Hek said the district administration along with DM&HO have been asked to hold a meeting with the dorbar shnong and decide which areas should be declared as containment areas as it is not necessary to contain the entire village.
Meanwhile, the health minister also informed that three ventilators were also donated to the Dr H Gordon Robert Hospital for effective handling of COVID-19 cases.
