Govt to soon take a call on relocation of Harijan families: Dhar

The state government will soon take a call on the long pending issue for relocation of 342 families of Harijan colony from Them Iew Mawlong.
“We will take a call. Don’t worry,” deputy chief minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar told reporters on Monday.
“We will be having a meeting very shortly. I think my be in the next meeting, it (things) will be more clearer,” he added.
On April 8, The Meghalaya High Court had adjourned the hearing on the case related to the proposed relocation of 342 families of Harijan colony from Them Iew Mawlong till April 28, to enable the state government and the Harijan Panchayat Committee to explore possibility of settlement.
