Govt to soon take a call on setting up of plasma bank
The state government is contemplating to create a plasma bank for treating severe COVID-19 cases in the state.
After the review meeting held on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that the setting up of a plasma bank is under active examination of the state government.
“We are also having a close consultation with the authority of the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) on the matter,” he said.
According to him, once this process is completed, the government will immediately take a final call on this regard.
A total of 264 patients mostly BSF troopers have recovered so far from the COVID-19 infection.
Asked, Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said that the plasma will be taken from the recovered patients.
