Govt to take a call on leading an all party delegation to Delhi over ILP issue: Tynsong
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said the state government will soon take a call on whether to lead a delegation of all 60 legislators to Delhi for pursuing with the Centre to implement the inner line permit (ILP) system in Meghalaya.
“Yes, that we will decide soon and I think the chief minister is still working on that,” Tynsong told reporters on Monday.
“We also have to make an appointment with the concerned ministers and right now we are yet to do that,” he also informed.
His statement came as a reaction to the growing demand from several quarters including political parties and pressure groups for the government to lead an all party delegation to Delhi in order to aggressively push for immediate implementation of ILP in the state.
Asked if the government would call for an all party meeting to discuss the strategy on the matter, Tynsong said, “If required yes and if it is not required I don’t think so.”
