Govt to take a call on reopening of religious places
The state government will soon take a call for reopening of religious places in the state following the new guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the fourth stage of ‘unlock’.
“We will again invite leaders of different religious organizations for their views to decide on the matter,” Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters on Monday.
In its latest guidelines, the MHA allowed social, political, religious functions with a ceiling of 100 persons with effect from September 21.
Earlier, the state government had decided to allow re-opening of places of worship across the state from June 14 but this was later revoked due to rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in the state.
