Govt to take action against contractor for delay to complete Ayurvedic PHC
Heath Minister Alexander Laloo Hek has assured to take action against the contractor for surrendering the work for construction of the Ayurvedic PHC.
This came after NCP legislator from Gambegre, Saleng A Sangma demanded that action should be taken against such contractors to prevent wastage of public money during the question hour in the Assembly on Monday.
“I welcome his suggestion but till now no action was taken but definitely we need to take action (on this regard),” Hek told the House.
While replying to a query raised by Shella legislator Balajied Kupar Synrem, the minister informed that the construction of the Ayurvedic PHC at Saikarap has not been completed.
He however said the main building, quarter and compound fencing has been completed in all respect but regretted to say that the contractor to whom the work was allotted for the construction of the Nurses Quarter No 1 and Therapist Quarter 2 Units have surrendered the work and re-allotment of another contractor is being processed.
When Synrem requested the government to take necessary steps for completing the project, the health minister informed that the although work for the two units have been retendered, nobody has participated in the process.
“However, the state government will take steps to ensure the work is completed,” he assured.
