Govt withdraws exemption notification from COVID-19 testing
The state government has decided to withdraw the exemption from COVID-19 testing and quarantine granted to certain categories of persons.
The decision was taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state in view of the rapid and alarming increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and in hospitalizations across the country.
In an order issued on Thursday, Principal Secretary in-charge Health & Family Welfare department Sampath Kumar informed that in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the exemption of testing granted to visiting Constitutional Authorities, visiting VVIPS, Officials of Government of India Departments, investigating officials of CBI, NIA, Income Tax, etc vide notification dated January 12, has been withdrawn with immediate effect until further orders
