Govt working on outstanding dues to ADCs: Tynsong
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Friday said the state government is still working out the outstanding dues related to the royalty share for all the three autonomous district councils (ADCs).
His statement came after the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) had recently demanded the government to release pending royalty share on minor and major minerals amounting to over Rs 94.40 crore.
The JHADC had also threatened to seek the intervention of the Court into the matter, after it could not release salary to its members and staffs for seven months due to the delay of the government in releasing the royalty share, which was pending from 2008.
The JHADC would require Rs 42 crore to clear the seven-month pending salary to over 1600 staffs including 30 members.
Tynsong admitted that the JHADC has officially written to the government on the matter. “However, the finance and other departments are still working out to know the outstanding dues pending for release not to JHADC but to the other two ADCs as well,” he said.
