Greet customers with hand sanitizer, DC told shopkeepers
In view of the pandemic situation arising out of COVID-19 the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills has issued health protocols to all shopkeepers of the District.
He has instructed all shopkeepers, the shop keepers of medium and large sized standalone shops to strictly follow the norm and directives issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The protocol makes it mandatory for all shopkeepers and staff-members to wear face mask in a correct manner and not to remove while talking, to maintain social distancing and to ensure that customers coming to their shop wear a face mask.
In addition to the general protocol, additional protocol has been issued for the shopkeepers of medium- and large-sized standalone shops, it mandatory that all shopkeepers provide hand sanitizers at the entrance, maintenance of 1-2 meter distance among customers as well as the staff members inside the shop, to ensure that not more than 5 persons are inside the shop. To sanitize the hands of the customers before touching the items that needs to check, for example, in case of optical stores it is advised that frames once tried should be sanitized before they are placed back and to frequent sanitize of the entire shop especially points that frequently come into contact with humans, for example door handles, knobs.
