GSU rues over incomplete PMGSY Road in South Garo Hills
The Garo Students Union (GSU) Siju Regional Unit has demanded immediate resumption of construction of the PMGSY Road Siju Bazar to Siju Dobakol in Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills.
In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills District, the Garo Students Union complained against the unfinished metalling and black-topping of the PMGSY road from Siju Bazar to Siju Dobakol in Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills.
Welbing Sangma, the General Secretary of GSU, stated in the complaint that the PMGSY road was only built for 400-500 metres and the construction has been stopped.
Specifying that the rainy season is rapidly approaching, Sangma said, “… it would be a nightmare for the two-wheelers, pedestrians and as well as the tourist …”. He also urged the Deputy Commissioner to look into the matter before the monsoon season.
