GSWSS phase III to be completed by March next year

The Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (GSWSS) Phase-III is expected to be completed in March, next year. 

“The tenatative month and year the GSWSS Phase-III is expected to be completed in March, 2025,” PHE Minister Marcuise N Marak said in a reply tabled in the just concluded Assembly. 

He said the reasons for delay in implementation of the project are resource constraint, inter-departmental coordination issues, deply in obtaining permission for lalying of pipelines from PWD and NHIDCL, delay in the work for laying of distribution networks due to objections from PWD, delay in receipt of forest clearance, delay in granting permission by the Ministry of Defence and delay in granting NOC by the Hima Mawphlang for land required for construction of stage II pumping.
