Guwahati Airport authority diverted six flights due to inclement weather
Due to inclement weather, the authority of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) on Sunday diverted six flights to Agartala and Kolkata to ensure the safety of the flight passengers.
According to an official communique from Airport authority, due to heavy downpour and wind, flight operation was adversely affected. The approach road to the airport was blocked due to uprooting of trees.
Roof outlets were heavily overflowed and water instilled inside the terminal building. Outside the terminal building, a small portion of the ceiling fell open due to pressure of water and wind.
There is no injury or damage. Operations resumed normal now.
