HANM files FIR against Topcem employees

The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) on Monday lodged an FIR against an employee of the Meghalaya Cement Limited (Topcem) and his associate for allegedly instigating violence during a protest against the public hearing held at Thangksai on August 24.

In an FIR submitted to the Officer In-charge Lumshnong police station, the HANM said, “As per the video that has surfaced on social media, Arun Kejriwal and one of his associates was clearly seen using slangs thereby provoked and instigated the violence that took place (at Thangskai).”

The organization also demanded the police to take necessary action by arresting the said persons.

Meanwhile, the HANM has also shot a letter to the Director of MCL demanding the management to immediately terminate Kejriwal and his associate from the company. It has threatened to stage protest if the company fails to comply with the demand.
