Headman’s body called for investigation into excessive electricity bill in East Jaintia Hills District

Aggrieved with drastic rise in the electricity bills with no significant increase in power consumption, the Synjuk Waheh Shnong East Jaintia Hills District sought the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner East Jaintia Hills District for conducting a thorough investigation into the billing system and for identifying any errors or discrepancies

According to the Synjuk, the headmen of various villages in the district received numerous complaints from their respective local residents regarding the sudden and drastic rise in the electricity bills and thereby having a considerable financial burden.

The Synjuk urged the Deputy Commissioner to implement measures to ensure accurate and fair billing practices.

Thr Synjuk appealed to the Deputy Commissioner “to Provide relief to affected consumers by adjusting their bills or offering other suitable solutions and also to enhance transparency in the billing process to avoid future issues.”
