Health Minister presents best performing Ayushman Bharat centre in Meghalaya
The State National Health Mission held a one-day awareness-raising workshop for State Nodal Officers and District Nodal Officers at Moreau’s Integral Training Mission (MIIT), Shillong, on Wednesday. It included the provision of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) through the Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Center (AB-HWC).
West Garo Hills District’s Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) received the state’s best performing Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre team. The prize was presented to District Nodal Officers Ivonne Sangma by Chief Guest, Health and Family Welfare Minister, A.L. Hek.
Hek lauded the health and wellness centre’s frontline employees who have successfully implemented the three years of comprehensive primary care. The Minister also stressed the importance and extent of preventive and advocate healthcare in various parts of the State through the Health and Wellness centres to ensure universal health coverage for every national.
He also urged health officials to intensify awareness campaigns on different health issues and to motivate state people to join the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS), to make it possible to use the funding provided by it.
Others who spoke on the occasion are Mission Director NHM Ram Kumar, Dr. R. F. Tariang, Director of Health Services, MCH & FW and Dr. S.S. Nongbri, State Nodal Officer, CPHC who highlighted at length about Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Program and its achievements in the state.
The Minister, Health and Family Welfare also published a coffee table book, which included 12 basic service posters and a witness video, capturing the AB- Health and Wellness Center journey through the state from 2018.
