Helpme assures Jowai corruption-free constituency if elected
Releasing his vision mission for 2-Jowai Assembly Constituency if elected, Independent Candidate and renowned columnist and social activist Dr. Helpme Hamkhein Mohrmen on Friday announced to contribute 80 percent of the MLA’s salary for the development of the constituency.
Informing media persons at his residence in Jowai, Mohrmen said that during the election campaign he will ensure minimum use of money during election, money will only be use for bare necessity and campaign will be free, fair and low profile.
Regarding the expected outcomes after five years if the people of the constituency elected him, the renowned columnist from Jaintia Hills region said that the community leaders will be better informed and will be empowered while the youths will be informed, empowered and able to face challenges in their lives and women will be free and empowered. He also added that the students will be informed and empowered to progress in their studies and shine in their lives.
Dr. Mohrmen assured better roads and infrastructure besides making Jowai Constituency a corruption free constituency and also a waste free constituency and there will be better and well equipped health services and better education system. He also said that he will put all out efforts to ensure Jowai Constituency becomes a model constituency.
On the his road map for implementing the various MLA schemes, the pastor turned politician informed that he will constitute the Jowai Constituency Development Council to be headed by the MLA as chairman, which will work for the progress of the constituency by ensuring people participation in the development process.
He further elaborated that the Council will be a vehicle for the development of the Constituency and he will seek support from institutions, agencies and different ministries for projects in the constituency and he will be assisted by Co Chairman which will includes all MDCs of Jowai North, Jowai South, Jowai Central and Khliehtyrshi-Sohmynting and the Dollois of the two elakas and it will meet once a month.
He added that the Council will comprised all Waheh Chnong in the constituency, representatives from women, farmers, teachers and students, labours and hawkers group, youth, arts and culture committee, tourism development and differently abled and peoole with addictions.
