Commuters are fed up with the broken bridge on National Highway 6 at Pyrtakuna, East Jaintia Hills District. It’s dangerous, especially when it’s raining or at night.
The bridge is in bad shape, with iron rods sticking out and a big hole. National Highway 6 is important, linking Assam to Barak Valley via Meghalaya and connecting Mizoram, Tripura, and parts of Manipur to the rest of India.
But the problem persists—roads aren’t being fixed, making travel risky for everyone. The Khasi Student Union (KSU) Narpuh is criticizing the government and highway authorities for ignoring local complaints.
