Himanta launches BJP’s membership drive, says the party needs no introduction of father, mother
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the importance of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) grassroots strength by stating that the party relies entirely on its workers, who serve as its driving force, rather than needing the introduction of a father or mother figure.
Launching BJP’s membership drive at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati, Sarma said: “The life history of an ordinary man with extraordinary abilities. Today we are proud that this party does not need a father’s induction. This party does not require the mother’s identity. The only thing this party needs is some confident workers dedicated to Bhatar Mata.”
“This characteristic of the party has made it the best and largest political force in the world today surpassing the Chinese communist party,” Sarma said.
“Our party is dependent on workers and workers are the driving force of the party,” Sarma also said.
“The vibrant energy of the workers keeps our party alive and vibrant. Our party is discussed at various places and in society. Our party has established a new value of Indian democracy by staying away from family politics,” Sarma said
“If we look from Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to Atal Bihari Vajpayee from Lal Krishna Advani to Amit Shah to JP Nada no president from any family has been elected for a second term. Today Lal Krishna Advani followed by his family. Atal Bihari Vajpayee is followed by his family. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee followed by his family, Amit Shah followed by his family, JP Nadda followed by his family,” Sarma also said.
“Among the few political parties, the BJP is perhaps among the most powerful, and prominent parties in India that does not have such tradition. Just as the Congress brings to mind a family the BJP does not bring to mind any family. Instead, a picture of human beings working in booths to taking the Primer Ministerial seat who dedicated their lives to the country,” Sarma further said.
“Today if we look for it every state president and national president of our party started their political career at the grassroots level and many of them were on to the highest position of the country by working for the country with a spirit of dedication
“If we look at the life journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from an ordinary campaigner of the Rashtriya Swayamseven Sangha and tirelessly working day and night with the organization of BJP as a dedicated worker, he has become the Prime Minister of the country,” the Chief Minister said.
“If we look at the life of national president JP Nadda, a student leader of Patna University, an activist who worked with the ABVPa member of BJPand an ordinary activist of Himachal Pradesh. He is currently holding the position of the national president of the BJP,” the Chief Minister also said.
“If we look at the life of Amit Shahhe, went from the ordinary workers of ABVP to booth level responsibilities of BJP, to mandal, district level responsibilities to national president and today he is the home minister of India,” he said.
“If we look at the life of Rajnath Singh, his journey started from teaching to today he is the defence minister of India,” he also said.
Sarma said: “With immense pleasure and pride, I enrolled as a member of BJP. I am proud to be a member of the world’s largest political party.”
Addressing the workers of the party, the Chief Minister also said that every BJP worker membership is a Maha Yagnya There is a parivartan in BJP but we have seen a parivarbad in Congress party.
