HITO files FIR against eatery shop for operating without trading license

The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territory Organization (HITO) on Wednesday filed an FIR against an eatery shop after it was found to be operating in an unhygienic manner and also without a trading license.
In the complaint submitted to the officer in-charge Rynjah police station, HITO Shillong City informed that along with the dorbar shnong, an inspection was conducted on April 8, in regards to trading licenses and health regulations concerning food safety in the city.
“During our inspection, we encountered alarming conditions at a shop named Rajshree, located within your jurisdiction in Rynjah. We found the establishment to be in an unacceptable state of cleanliness, raising significant health concerns regarding the food being prepared and sold there.
Given the recent tragic incidents in Karnataka, where two individuals lost their lives due to food poisoning, we believe that immediate action is necessary to prevent similar occurrences in our area,” it said.
“Furthermore, it was noted that the shop owner is operating without the proper trading licenses and does not possess the necessary documentation for the laborers employed there. This negligence not only endangers public health but also flouts regulatory requirements meant to safeguard our community,” the organization said while urging the police to investigate and take appropriate action against the shop owner.
