HNLC claimed responsibility for the death of Romeo & labelled Khasi working in police and intelligence as traitors
JOWAI: The HNLC today claimed responsibility for the death of Romeo Lyngdoh who was shot death in Lapalang village under Pynursla Police Station.
According to HNLC general secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw, Romoe received death penalty due to his involvement in activities against the HNLC and the ‘Jaidbynriew’. He was a sanctioned agent who worked as a police informer; he was paid handsomely and was instrumental in recruiting informers for the state police locally and also from Bangladesh. They had been hunting him from the year 2008 and finally he fell to our bullets on the night of May 12.
Nongtraw clarified that in the year 2016 when their cadres were arrested in Pynursla along with IEDs. He was the one who had provided information to the police about our cadres because they had reserved his car unknowingly, that he was a police informer. The police had been using him all the while and he was in their payroll.
“We would like to make aware to our Hynñiewtrep brothers who are working in the police department and intelligence branch, that they should not take pride in what they do against our ‘Jaidbynriew’. They should understand that we are fighting for a cause, and they are working with people who want to convert us into slavery. They are traitors and by doing this they are no different from Indians who worked for the British regime against the Indians” said Nongtraw
All the while we were underestimated, now we had proven that we are being practical too.
Nongtraw also appeal to the people to love their motherland and work to protect our very own national identity. It’s through our people and their support that we can carry forward our struggle. We are determined now, to eliminate all these viruses that were responsible for the death of many of our cadres. From now onwards we shall not reveal the names of people in our hitlist. We shall hit first and then we shall make our claims legitimate. Using violence to stop violence wont resolve anything, as long as government use violence to combat violence, we will always have violence, if the govt is of the opinion that violence can solve anything, ‘Try Us’. Our fingers are ready to press the trigger, and let the bullet pierce the hearts of the enemies.
